What Vaani is
Vaani is a software platform, not a healthcare provider, and it does not give medical advice. It contacts patients on behalf of the hospital, clinic, or practitioner responsible for their care, using protocols those clinicians have written and approved. This notice explains what data we process to make that possible, and how it's handled.
Who this applies to
Two groups interact with Vaani: the hospitals, clinics, and doctors who use it to reach their patients (our customers), and the patients those organizations contact through it. For patients, the hospital or clinic remains the party responsible for their data and care — Vaani processes it on their instructions.
What we process
Appointment and contact details supplied by the hospital or clinic; call recordings and transcripts of Vaani's conversations with patients, used for quality review and clinical escalation; and account and billing information for the organizations we work with directly.
Data residency and security
Patient data is stored in India. Audio streaming and storage are encrypted in transit and at rest, and our security practices are aligned with SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA guidelines.
Your rights
If you're a patient and want to access, correct, or request deletion of your data, please contact the hospital, clinic, or doctor who arranged for Vaani to reach you — they hold the underlying record and can instruct us directly. If you're a customer organization, you can reach us any time at privacy@vaani.health.
Changes to this notice
We'll update this page if how we handle data changes, and update the date at the top when we do.
